Leadership Experience
The lessons I learned during my 2017 run for trustee ultimately helped me run the referendum campaign against The Ravines at Hoover. No one else on the committee had experience running a campaign.
During the referendum, I started with a list of contacts I gained through my campaign the previous year. I helped gather a core group of residents who were committed to fighting high-density. This core group met on a regular basis to strategize the referendum. The group designed the door hangers, mailers, signs and sign toppers.
I was in charge of:
-
Gathering and organizing volunteers
-
Recruiting sign placements
-
Organizing the sign placements
-
Soliciting financial support from residents
-
Executing the door-to-door campaign
This helped in building our network of residents throughout the township and ultimately secured a win on election day.
